A place to move, connect and belong
Yoga can be a personal practice. But it doesn't have to be something you do alone.
At Whanganui Yoga Centre, we believe a yoga centre can be more than a place you come to for a class. It can be a place where you know familiar faces, share a conversation, learn something new, move your body and take a little time for yourself.
Our community brings together people of different ages, backgrounds, abilities and levels of experience. Some come for yoga. Some come for movement, strength or mobility. Others are looking for connection, relaxation or simply a regular place to be.
Whatever brings you through the door, you're welcome here.
A place where you can feel part of something.

Founder · Movement Teacher · Yoga Teacher
Whanganui Yoga Centre was founded by Martin Nagle, a movement teacher based in Whanganui, New Zealand.
Martin has a lifelong interest in the relationship between movement, personal development, behaviour and the brain — an interest shaped by more than 30 years working as a Psychiatric Nurse and over 14 years as a qualified Yoga Teacher.
He holds a 4th Dan in Aikido and has spent decades exploring different approaches to movement, learning and body awareness — including Brain Gym, Feldenkrais, Shiatsu, Qigong and NeuroSomatic practices.
Rather than following a single system, Martin brings these traditions together to create a place where people can move, learn and feel a little more at home in themselves.
The centre isn't defined by one particular method. It's defined by the people who come through the door.
