    Yin Yoga

Slow, supported yoga for relaxation and the nervous system

Yin Yoga is a slow, restorative practice using longer-held poses to support relaxation, the nervous system and connective tissues. Postures are held gently, with support, giving the body time to soften, settle and slow down.

    What Is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is a slow, quiet practice in which postures are held for longer periods, usually with the support of props.

Rather than actively stretching muscles, the practice applies gentle, sustained pressure to the deeper connective tissues — fascia, ligaments and joints — while inviting the muscles to relax.

Sessions may include a series of supported floor postures, breathing practices and extended periods of stillness and rest.

What Does Yin Yoga Focus On?

    Relaxation

Give the body and nervous system time to settle into a state of deep rest.

    Connective Tissues

Apply gentle, sustained pressure to support the health of fascia, ligaments and joints.

    Nervous System Regulation

Use stillness and breath to encourage the nervous system toward calm and recovery.

    Mobility

Gently work with the body's range of movement in a slow, supported way.

    Stillness & Awareness

Practise being present with sensation and breath during longer-held postures.
